Digit is going on his annual visit to Mermaidos, an underwater cybersite filled with merfolk, to visit one of his best friends in the whole cyber-world-Eugene. The two of them are great buddies who love to play underwater games, frolic with fish, and do other wacky water things in this idyllic underwater paradise. When Digit arrives, something is wrong. Mermaidos is murky and warm and the fish are leaving in droves. Digit feels terrible for his pal Eugene and promises to do what he can to make things right. It turns out Hacker has put a plan in motion to turn Mermaidos into his own personal hot tub! He is making the water hotter and hotter, raising the temperature to a hot 100 cyber-degrees- a temperature that would make Mermaidos uninhabitable for the Mermaidians and force them to move out. It is up to Digit and the CyberSquad to stop Hacker's plan, reverse the thermal pollution and help save Eugene's home.

Fortunately for him, the little windy town of Bottowa has a powerful energy source that'll put new pep in his step. Unfortunately for the Bottowans, this power source is what raises the big ball at the stroke of midnight on Reboot Eve (like dropping the big ball in Times Square, but in reverse), and their celebration is being broadcast live across Cyberspace! When Hacker steals the energy source, Delete is so upset that he decides to stay behind and join forces with the CyberSquad, who have come to help the poor little town from Virtual World-wide humiliation. Unhappily Ever After

Hacker, longing again for Wicked, devises a deliciously dreadful plan to impress her: He sneaks into Happily-Ever-Afterville, uncovers the Book of Unhappy Endings, releases them across the site and crowns himself king! Wicked, duly impressed, becomes his Queen and together they delight as unhappy endings unfold. To rescue the site, the CyberSquad must get the Book back from Hacker to recapture the unhappy endings, and seal it inside 3 nesting boxes with precisely fitting lids ... all before sundown! Of course, Hacker has destroyed the lids, but the kids enlist the carpentry skills of one of the Three Little Pigs. Can the team figure out how to cut new lids in time - or will this tale end Unhappily Ever After?

(topic: Liquid Volume) - Determined to destroy Motherboard in any way possible, Hacker cleverly clogs up her cooling system. Digit brings the kids into cyberspace to help fix her, but the special coolant Motherboard needs, cryoxide, is found only in Castleblanca - and the supply is closely monitored! To bring back exactly enough cryoxide for Motherboard, the kids have to figure out the exact volume of Motherboard's tank. In the process, they discover the importance of a standard unit of measure - and fill a most unusual container with the precious cryoxide. The Big Idea: Just because one container appears bigger to the eye doesn't mean it holds more liquid than another. A container's volume depends on all its dimensions.
