The kids have a really cool plan for Digit's b-day-a surprise party! But in order to keep the secret, they pretend to forget his big day. Disappointed, Digit goes off on his own and runs into Hacker. The vexatious villain is only too happy to take advantage of the situation: If he can convince the dejected Digit that he is his one true friend, he can reprogram the cyboid to gain access to Motherboard! Meanwhile, the kids have a special gift made for their pal-a chocolate "Digit" sculpture. But to get it to the party, they must cross a desert where the heat threatens to melt the sweet treat. By observing how wearing a wet bandana keeps them cool, the kids figure out that evaporation is key to keeping the choco-sculpture from melting. But can they get it to Digit in one piece before Hacker cons him into changing sides?

Penguins can't fly - or can they? In Cyberspace, on one special night each year, the penguins of Penguia take flight to deliver gifts to young borgs across the virtual universe. For the first time ever, the CyberSquad's friend Fluff is participating, and invites his pals Matt, Jackie, Inez and Digit to join him in the impressive Penguin March. They head to the Ice Palace, where the gifts are made and where magic snowflakes are sprinkled on the penguins so they can fly. But Hacker, up to his usual ruinous tricks, doesn't want a happy holiday (let alone happy little borgs) so he creates a giant ditch in front of the Ice Palace and traps all the penguins in its icy depths! The CyberSquad must get the penguins ice-shoes so they can climb out before midnight, but how many do they need? With too many to count, the answer lies in the kids' ability to sample the penguin population to make a close estimate. Can the CyberSquad save the penguins and their favorite holiday too??

Digit's cousin, Brigit, is in a prickly bind. Although her garden is overflowing with flowering cactus plants, they're not bearing any apple cactus fruit. And no cactus apple fruit means no cactus apple juice--everyone's favorite drink in all of Cyberspace! Brigit thinks she knows what's going on, thanks to a chart she's kept of how many bats--or in this case, how few--have come to pollinate the cactus flowers so far. Where have all the bats gone? Could it have something to do with Hacker's new secret hideout? With a map to guide the way, Digit, Matt, Jackie, and Inez set out into the desert to find out.

It's not easy being the most notorious villain in all of Cyberspace, and Hacker is really stressed out. Buzz and Delete surprise their mess-of-a-stress boss with a blissful day at Mount Bear Fresh Water Spa, full of relaxing treatments sourced from the beautiful Mount Bear River! But, when the water supply suddenly stops flowing, Hacker and the other patrons are left out to dry. With spa manager, Jules, in over his head, Buzz and Delete go to extreme measures and ask the CyberSquad for help. Creech invites her good friends the CyberSquad to Tikiville to show off the amazing new bike path that has everyone driving their fantastic new bikes and trikes rather than cars. Everyone is having fun - even Hacker is joyriding on his bike (and if that isn't suspicious, Jackie doesn't know what is). Inez, who cares deeply for animals, soon realizes the bike path has divided the habitats of many of Tikiville's cute, cuddly creatures. Creature families have been split up, and the busy bike path is preventing animals from reaching their food and water sources. Inez feels the bike path should be shut down, but Creech doesn't want to take away the benefits the path has created for her community. The disagreement drives a wedge between the two good friends. Will they find a compromise? Will a map of the area help Inez and her friends reunite the cute critters to their families and homes? And what is that sneaky Hacker up to?!

Has Hacker finally found a way to take down Motherboard forever? All bets are off when Hacker stumbles upon the secret location of the "Program Proliferator" - a piece of hardware capable of reprogramming Motherboard's operating system. It's buried right under Dingerville Park, home of The Dingerball Series, a once-in-every-four-year championship game less than a week away. While retrieving the device, Hacker suctions up all the ballfield's dirt, leaving a giant crater in the ground-and in the hearts of all Cybercitizens. No one is more distraught than Lefty, the local seven-year-old pitcher Matt's been mentoring. The CyberSquad must figure out how to refill the missing dirt before the big game! Could composting lead to a home run?

Matt, Inez, Digit, and Jackie are planning a friendship retreat: four epic days of camping in the wilderness on Camptopia. Although Jackie's going to miss her warm bed, everyone's excited to spend uninterrupted time together in nature-no distractions whatsoever. All are happy campers until Digit's Power Pal 3000--a cooking-heating-entertainment center all-in-one--suddenly shuts down! With no gadgets to heat up their campsite, cook their meals, or save their retreat, temperatures drop while tensions rise. The kids have to learn how to work through their frustrations, and perhaps look up for a solution. Through a bit of trial and error, the kids discover that they can harness the power of the sun to solve their problems. It's amazing what solar energy and a little ingenuity can do!

The Leaders of Cyberspace have gathered to discuss Hacker's increasing influence, when they are suddenly interrupted by Hacker. Buzz and Delete, Hacker's henchmen, hide the leaders including Dr. Marbles, in the building and its' up to the kids to rescue them. Before long, the kids discover that they can only move between the building's levels by scaling its outside walls! So the kids turn the building into a giant ruler in order to keep track of the floors. And when they discover that there are levels beneath what they thought was "zero," the kids must tap into the power of negative numbers. The Big Idea: Numbers don't have to stop at zero! Negative numbers -- numbers that are less than zero -- can extend the range of what you can measure on a scale and give you the ability to compare numbers using direction as well as amount. Math Topic: Negative Numbers NCTM Links: Number & Operations.
