A Reboot Eve to Remember

It's that time of the year again: Reboot Day - when all of cyberspace celebrates a fresh start and all the bots make Reboot resolutions! It's Delete's favorite holiday, but Hacker is having none of it; he's in a foul mood because he's low on energy. Fortunately for him, the little windy town of Bottowa has a powerful energy source that'll put new pep in his step. Unfortunately for the Bottowans, this power source is what raises the big ball at the stroke of midnight on Reboot Eve (like dropping the big ball in Times Square, but in reverse), and their celebration is being broadcast live across Cyberspace! When Hacker steals the energy source, Delete is so upset that he decides to stay behind and join forces with the CyberSquad, who have come to help the poor little town from Virtual World-wide humiliation. To do this, they'll try to harness the natural power of the wind and build a giant windmill. But will they be able to finish it all by the stroke of midnight? And will Delete decide to stay in Bottawa forever?

Now, the sun is streaming directly onto the pigs' house, and it is quickly heating it up inside! Meanwhile, Hacker starts feeling something very strange - guilt. Codename: Icky

(topic: Codes) - In the watery depths of cybersite Aquari-yum, the kids and Hacker go in search of a giant cyber-slug, who feeds on pure energy. The kids and Digit travel underwater in two separate vessels, but Hacker has a listening device that taps into their communications system, allowing him to overhear their plans - and track every move they make. The kids outsmart Hacker by devising a series of codes so they can send messages back and forth in secret - even though Hacker can hear what they're saying. But unless the kids can reach the slug first, Hacker will use the slug to attack Motherboard's circuitry and disable her once and for all! The Big Idea: You can use a code (a communication system that substitutes one thing for another) to send top-secret messages as long as your code has an adjustable rule that can be reversed to read the message.

A Broom of One's Own

When Wicked puts a CyberSquad Seal of Approval on her new "Wickedy Brooms," it's up to Matt, Jackie, Inez and Digit to make sure the brooms are as good as Wicked claims. They try them out, figuring out their speed - how far the different brooms go in a given amount of time. The brooms pass the test - but Wicked doesn't. They must race to Control Central and save Motherboard before Wicked's scheme succeeds! And where's Hacker? And what will he do when he finds out Wicked is trying to take over his turf? EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE: You can use speed - the distance you travel in a unit of time - to tell how far you will go in any amount of time.

The Emperor Has Snow Clothes

Hacker has crowned himself Emperor of Penguia and deposited the real emperor as a frozen statue in a distant corner of the site. The CyberSquad arrives just as a crippling snowstorm makes its way across Penguia in a path that seems destined to collide with their rescue. Digit uses updates on the storm's progress from cyberweathercaster Stormy Gale (Janice Huff) to help the kids track the storm. Will the kids be able to predict where and when it will hit next - or will the storm stop them from saving the Emperor from a frozen fate?

Trash Creep

Perfectamundo isn't so perfect anymore - the trash is out of control! A giant garbage heap threatens to break through the cybersite's dome, and the CyberSquad must become garbologists in order to reduce the rubbish. Hacker, meanwhile, is digging through the very same heap for some mistakenly discarded seeds that will allow him to grow an army of monster plants to take over Cyberspace. Will he find the seeds before the Perfectamundians solve their trash problem? Or is the dome doomed?

The CyberSquad and their new friend--a little Factorian girl named Zoreen--suspect Hacker is up to no good, and they discover he's not making toys, but spy planes! To get the Factorians out of Hacker's clutches, the CyberSquad must show them how to grow their own food. Can they put Hacker out of business for good? When Penguins Fly

Penguins can't fly - or can they? In Cyberspace, on one special night each year, the penguins of Penguia take flight to deliver gifts to young borgs across the virtual universe. For the first time ever, the CyberSquad's friend Fluff is participating, and invites his pals Matt, Jackie, Inez and Digit to join him in the impressive Penguin March. They head to the Ice Palace, where the gifts are made and where magic snowflakes are sprinkled on the penguins so they can fly. But Hacker, up to his usual ruinous tricks, doesn't want a happy holiday (let alone happy little borgs) so he creates a giant ditch in front of the Ice Palace and traps all the penguins in its icy depths! The CyberSquad must get the penguins ice-shoes so they can climb out before midnight, but how many do they need? With too many to count, the answer lies in the kids' ability to sample the penguin population to make a close estimate. Can the CyberSquad save the penguins and their favorite holiday too??
