Summer 1946. Guests and staff are back at the hotel. Madsen meets a wealthy Danish-American and immediately sees an opportunity for profit.

Madsen is determined to hold on to Seerup long enough to secure a deal. Young actress Kitty Hansen moves in to rehearse with Weyse.

Kitty's personal confrontation with the past sends Weyse into a rage. But soon, the best kept secret in the hotel is suddenly revealed.

On a rainy day, Madsen is expecting a visit from Seerup and his distinguished American wife. A guest from the past moves into room 8.

Amanda is pressured by the hotel's suppliers, and Weyse is confronted by the theatre. Mrs. Seerup gets into trouble. Fie finally meets Morten.

Amanda has to give up the hotel if she and Frida are to have a future with Uwe in Germany. Weyse shocks the theatre. Kitty searches for the diamonds.

Seerup wants to keep the hotel as it is. Madsen and Weyse receive an offer from Odegaard Andersen, and Otilia gets a letter.

Ellinor Seerup's plans for the hotel take hold, and everyone turns their anger towards Madsen. Weyse tries to back out of the deal with the theatre.
