Elmo, Abby, and Tamir help look, and they come across something new, a wooden cricket. They try to figure out what it's for when Dave spots the wooden cricket and tells them they found his instrument. This wooden cricket guiro is special to Dave because his uncle gave it to him when he was a little kid in Cuba and taught him how to play. Elmo, Abby, and Tamir learn that the wooden cricket is a guiro, a percussion instrument that you play by scraping a stick on the ridges. Tamir's Water Works

Tamir is leaving for robotics camp and needs to find a way to keep the garden watered while he's away. First, Slimey tries pouring a bucket of water from a helicopter, but he can only pour a little at a time. Then, Tamir comes up with the idea of putting watering cans on a clothesline but can't think of a way to fill them back up with water. A porcupine walks by and accidentally sits on a water bottle. That gives Tamir the idea to make a sprinkler with a bottle, hose, and some tape. But the sprinkler can't be moved around! Just then, Tamir gets another idea and asks the porcupine to sit on an old hose to poke holes and places the hose through the planters to make a drip irrigation system. It works! Tamir didn't give up and now the flowers, fruits, and veggies in the community garden can have plenty of sunlight, soil, and water.

Brave Bessie, By Brave Gabrielle

Elmo and Gabrielle share about what they want to be when they grow up. Gabrielle wants to be the first African American woman formula one race car driver. But Elmo isn't sure if he can be the first monster-cook-teacher-cooking teacher. Gabrielle performs a show and tells Elmo and Grover about Bessie Coleman. She shares that Bessie Coleman wanted to learn how to fly an airplane but wasn't allowed to because of the way she looked. However, Bessie Coleman didn't give up and went far away to a school that taught her how to fly an airplane no matter what she looked like. With Bessie's courage, she became the very first African American and Native American woman to fly an airplane! Thanks to Gabrielle's show, Elmo and Grover learn that just because they may be the first person to do something doesn't mean that can't do it. Elmo doesn't give up and decides to become the first monster-cook-teacher-cooking teacher.

Worms Want to Play

Frankie the worm wants to go play with her cousins, but they moved far away into another planter. This is a problem! Rosita, Gabrielle, and Zoe think like engineers to help Frankie. They wonder if there's a way to make the trip shorter and easier for Frankie. What if they build a worm-sized bridge that connects the planters? Let's try! They use popsicle sticks and glue and create a bridge long enough to reach the planters Frankie's cousins are. It worked and they didn't give up. Now the worms can get together to play anytime they want!
